The Donna Review

I do like a Merlot but on tasting it is still slightly too strong for a Merlot and lacking the smoothness that you get with a Merlot. There is definitely a slight vinegar taste to this and has to be drunk with food. On it’s own it cannot hold its own. Maybe it would be better to lay this down for 5 years, but at the moment not the best.

Man with no palate Review

For a Merlot this isn’t particularly smooth it’s almost slightly grainy, as if the fruit has just been pressed and not filtered. Initially I quite like it but the more I drink it the less appealing it becomes. It is almost overly clayey which distracts from the taste. Alessia Grace is a real hit and miss wine and I think this one may require a little more maturing. I am no expert but the wine may be way too young to drink.

Alessia Grace 2020 Merlot Bottle Label Description

This medium body red shines brilliant ruby in the glass and temps with spices. Such as cinnamon, cloves and violets on the nose. The rich and ripe plum flavours layer next to dark chocolate and finish with silky elegant tannins in the mouth. Enjoy with a rich vegetable stew now or later with careful cellaring.
