We decided to decant this wine and let it breath. Based on the price I think this was a good decision. A beautiful deep colour in the decanter and in the glass.
As the label says it does have a slight balsamic aroma. This is very smooth with slight tannins. It is flavorsome, easy to drink. An interesting point on decanting this there was no sediment and that’s interesting when it is five years old.
A really easy wine to drink especially at this price.

Man with no palate Review
What I found out when I was purchasing this wine which I previously didn’t know that the wine has been in oak barrels for 2 years.
That aside this is actually a nice wine but it is a Rioja. It holds its flavour from first sip to last sip, is fantastically earthy and could just keep drinking it.
This is an easy contenter for the Christmas wine list.

Herederos Del Marques De Riscal Rioja Reserva 2018 Bottle label Description
This wine has been made with the varieties Tempranillo and Graciano from vines over 15 years old. The grapes are picked by hand and aged for 24 months in American oak barrels. Its got a balsamic aroma with notes of ripe fruit in the mouth its fresh, light and persistent with soft and round tannins.
Serve temperature between 16 and 18C
