The Donna Review

I have never tasted a Merlot from South Africa, so wasn’t too sure if it was going to be a hit or not.

On pouring, it is a lot deeper in colour in the glass, not the classic Merlot colour. It does have a Merlot smell I’m not overly sure, if is way too heavy for a Merlot in taste and flavour. A much richer taste, but there is not any nasty lingering bitterness. So not too sure, as was expecting a Merlot but thinks this is something different – maybe this got mixed up when bottling and labelling.

Man with no Palate Review

I have not been in many gentleman clubs, the odd one in London and Wales. This wine takes me back to my late teens to that gentleman’s club in Wales, it just reminds me of the heavy leather chairs, and the story’s of a good yarn it seems to get better each time you tell it. I did not like this wine to start with, but it kind of grows on you. It gets more mellow yet luscious with each additional sip. I would not call this a classic Merlot, just like that gentleman’s club in Wales.
